The ancient city sites of Hierapolis and Necropolis, the splendid Cleopatra’s Pool and the tomb of St Philip are very near to this place. Day 1 - (Ephesus)

With this 2-day tour you will visit the ancient city of Ephesus and unfold its history. Ephesus used to be the second most important city after Rome and was a commercial and political centre during the Roman period. The entire city is made by marble and walking around enables you to observe some interesting structures with upgraded aesthetics. Among others you will observe the marble streets, statues, temples and houses with mosaics. One of the most interesting highlights of Ephesus is the temple of Artemis which is one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. In the broader area you may also visit the House of Virgin Mary. According to the myth, Virgin Mary spent her last days there.

Day 2 - (Pamukkale)

On the second day of this excursion you will visit Pamukkale, an area known for having some imposing natural wonders. One of the most interesting spots to visit is the Cotton Castle. This limestone, white-washed mountain is a breath-taking spot of unique natural beauty. The mountain has naturally-shaped terraces filled with thermal water. In the broader area you may also visit an antique thermal pool, known as the Cleopatra’s Pool, and swim at an extra cost. Moreover, in Pamukkale there is the ancient city of Hierapolis with many interesting ruins. In Hierapolis you may observe a necropolis, an ancient theatre, Roman baths and temples.

Distances

For the purposes of Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour From Marmaris, you will be travelling with a comfortable and fully air conditioned bus. On the first day, during the morning, the bus will drive you from your hotel towards Ephesus.     The two day trip to Ephesus and Pamukkale was the absolute highlight of our whole stay in Turkey not just because of the beautiful places we have seen but also because we were fortunate enough to have Sukru as our guide. His knowledge of the places and the historical background is amazing, time after time I have felt that I am actually able to see the ancient world around us with full of life of the people who once were living there.
